Málaga, Spain. Excursion: 4x4 Andalusia Adventure

I've had a bit of fun today, travelling in a 4x4 vehicle to see a bit of the surrounding area.

The first part of the tour we had to travel by bus to get to where the 4x4 vehicles were stationed. Unfortunately our drivers and guides did not realise how young one of the guests were so we had to make a brief detour to pick up a child seat so that traffic regulations wouldn't be broken.
Frigiliana

From there we were driven to Frigiliana, a town with Moorish influence along with its whitewashed houses, narrow winding streets.  We had a brief walking tour to give us an idea of the village, and to take some photographs.  Frigiliana is a beautiful village but unfortunately we didn't have time to explore it.

From Frigiliana we travelled along a steep, bumpy, twisting road through mountains and National Park.  In a couple of places the road was narrow and the drop down was steep - a couple of guests had to turn their heads so they didn't look down.  They prayed hard that our driver would get us up to the top in one piece rather than in bits!

At Punto Blanco we had a photograph stop.  The views were very pretty.

Heading down the other side of the mountain we headed into Competa where we stopped at a Casa Paco, a  restaurant/café, for tapas - with parma ham and cheese.  We also had a drink, including wine or beer for those who wanted to savour the locally made plonk.  Casa Paco was quite busy when we arrived so we had to eat very quickly when we were finally served.

Climbing back into the 4x4s we headed back to our waiting bus via countryside roads.  After a glass or so of wine, the guests in my vehicle were extremely happy - which made for quite a merry journey back.  Someone piped up 'we don't want to go back just yet; can you take us back out another tour?'.

Unfortunately it was a 'no' as our guides and drivers had been booked for another tour.  Pity. 😉

It was quite a bit of a whirlwind tour but I had a great time.

Once back at the ship guests still had time to get out and visit town if they wanted to do so.  For me - I decided I had had enough excitement for the day.
