Sadly no docking in Burnie. Onwards to Hobart, Tasmania!

Our route from Burnie to Hobart, after having to miss docking
in Burnie.
We were due to have stopped in Burnie yesterday but the weather outside the harbour was not good and therefore getting the ship through the narrow entrance into the harbour was unsafe.  So we had a day of sailing.  As it was, the weather was miserable so I think guests didn't mind terribly that they couldn't get off the ship.

Last  night we went to a concert by Bernard Walz.  He is an Australian pianist who has been playing the piano ever since he could reach the piano keys; firstly by ear and when a bit older he had proper lessons.  Mr Walz gave a nice concert, mainly classical with other music genres thrown in.  I left the showroom with my heart soaring!

I was off the hook as regards tours so Paul and I got off the ship around lunch time and wandered around Hobart for a bit.  We were back well in time to meet up with Ananda and Christine from the ship's shops.  Ananda's contract finishes soon and she will be heading home when we dock in Sydney.  It was a nice farewell meal that we had; leaving us very full afterwards.

Hobart to Port Arthur.
The Maasdam is leaving Hobart quite late tonight because our next port of call is Port Arthur, not very far from Hobart.  For Paul it means he will have to stay up until the ship leaves Hobart, yawn.  Poor chap.
