Sea days, sailing towards Dunedin (New Zealand) via Fiordland National Park

Last night we went to a concert in the Showroom.  Mario D'Andrea is an Italian-born chap whose family moved to Australia when he was 11 years old.  From a young age he learnt to play the guitar.  During the concert last night he played a range of music on his electric guitar, including making his music sound like it was being played on a baziki, bagpipes and mandolin.  Mr D'Andrea also had a fantastic sense of humour.  This, along with his electric guitar performance, made for a good evening's entertainment.

Our route around the south coast of New Zealand, via Fiordland National
Park, to Port Chalmers
These days at sea have been fairly quiet.  Paul has come down with a cold and has not been feeling great.  I just hope he isn't generous enough to pass his germs on to me!  😉

New Zealand Immigration & Customs officials have been travelling with the Maasdam to make ship clearance easier when entering NZ waters.  So whilst at sea guests have been requested to see the officials at specific times during the day in one of the function rooms.  Fortunately there were no hiccups this time, compared to the Australian immigration and customs saga.  Passport and self presented with a completed landing card.  Looked at, passport stamped and away I went.  Paul and the Captain hovered at the near the door just in case the Captain's wife and I had any problems!

I had to laugh.  Paul and I popped by to see Christina in the shops but she was busy with a guest so we browsed a bit.  Whilst doing so, a lady literally bounded up to Paul and thanked him for the Maasdam's hospitality for having the immigration officials on board.  Needless to say she invited him to join her and the other immigration officials for a drink at the bar.  Paul, being on duty, was unable to drink and declined her offer.  After she went back to her colleagues at the bar and we headed back the navigation deck, hand in hand, it suddenly struck me that - from her body language and exuberance - she rather fancied Paul.  I don't think she realised that he is married and that the 'guest' near him was in actual fact me, his wife.  It would have been very funny if we HAD joined the officials for a drink! 😂  Life goes on.  Tomorrow is another day!

We arrive in Port Chalmers, near Dunedin, in the morning.
