Naturist Walking - Day 4

Our 4th day of walking dawned warm and lovely. Our stiff legs managed to bear our weight when we got up this morning, ready for further torture and more battering to our weary feet.  We felt more positive and the walk plan sounded lovely.

The start of the 14km walk was a half hour drive away, just below the dam wall of Leibis Lake.  After a bit of a stiff climb we finally got to the level of the lake and headed towards the village of Meura.  At lunch time we sat at the edge of a farmer's field with gorgeous views over the valley.  It was very pleasant.  The local farmer didn't bat an eyelid at the naked group whilst gathering in his harvest.

Haflinger horses near Meura
After lunch we wandered down into the valley along a farm road, passing fields with Haflinger horses in them.  They were beautiful.  As we got closer to Meura, near stables and livery, we had to get dressed whilst going through town.  Much to the dismay of our walk leader the faster walkers spotted a tea room selling ice cream and had disappeared inside.  The rest of the group followed and we had an impromptu break to have have ice cream and something to drink.    Eventually we got going again and had a short walk through the village to the other side and once out of sight, we all stripped off again.

At one point there were two ways of getting down a hill, one path was steeper than the other.  The not so agile opted for the easier route (which was still steep enough) and we joined them.  We arrived at a stream before the larger group so we took the time to cool off our feet in the water.  The rest of the walking group eventually arrived and those brave enough to do so sat down in the water to cool off.  I managed to do so too!  Paul attempted to do so but didn't take to the cold very well.  I ended up splashing some water on him - he was NOT pleased, of course.

The rest of the walk was along a gravel forest path, tracing a route around the lake.  We eventually arrived at the dam wall, walked across it and headed down into the car park below.  Paul's feet, and mine, fared much better today - not feeling as sore as they had done in previous days.  Ditto our leg muscles.

Dinner was at a small hotel, "Zum Hirsch" in Unterweißbach and we ended up sitting outside because it was nice weather.  There was a good choice dishes on the menu and we were certainly not disappointed.
