Looking for Storage

When we packed up Paul's house after it was sold, all the household items were stored in a friend's barn on their farm for safekeeping.  Unfortunately at the time of agreeing to store our things the idea had been to use the barn roof-space however restoration of the farmhouse and adjoining barn had not been completed so the steps had not been re-built in time.  So our things had to go onto the barn floor which had a very uneven floor which was not concreted over, and some of the boxes started to look quite unstable - in actual fact 2 of them cracked at that time so we put duct tape on them as a temporary measure.

Over last few months, with the above in mind, we decided it would be best to move our things into a more suitable storage venue and which would be easier to reach as and when we buy a house - wherever that may be in the future.

We spent much of the day looking at places and found one that wasn't too expensive.  It was also very new-looking, having only been in operation for 2 years.  So a storage room was booked for tomorrow.  We also discovered that the company hires out containers of various sizes and is even prepared to take a container to your house/business, allow you to fill it, then bring the container back to the company's site for safe-keeping until needed with 24/7 secure access.  Darn!  😕 We could have booked a container and truck ...  It was too late to re-think things at such short notice so we mentally prepared ourselves for tomorrow's move.
