Sea days & Boston.

Over the last two days we have been sailing towards Boston and I have been keeping myself busy with continuing with catching up with my blogs and sorting out photographs.

On one of the days I helped the shore excursions team with collating and putting together pages of the new tour brochure.  It didn't take too long because the forthcoming cruise is only 7 days so there weren't too many pages to put together.

A few people who joined us - the evening has only just begun so not
everyone has arrived yet.  At least the food arrived well in time!
Last night Paul and I hosted a game of werewolf in our cabin.  Paul ordered some nibbles and we also had a variety of soft drinks to hand as well as beer and a bottle of wine.  Staff that came to join the game brought either a bottle of wine or nibbles as well, which was very kind of them.  There was a nice mix of people - Dan, Mike, Linda, Marizaan and Jenna from the infirmary came, a singer (Karen) and her musician husband (Nick) came along, there was an art auctioneer, two or three officers came, Judy from the excursions desk came, the chief housekeeper popped by briefly, and there were two non-revenue passengers that also attended - Jenna's mum and Mike's husband.  It was a good evening and we managed to have two games of werewolf before calling it a night.

Boston is a turnaround port and there had to be 'zero count' on the ship so I went outside the cruise terminal along with other passengers.  I had arranged to meet Karen and Nick outside the terminal and go into Boston just to stretch my legs but also see if I could get some stationery for the

navigation deck office.  Paul had given me a shopping list in the hope I could get a few things.  Once Karen and Nick arrived we eventually hailed a taxi.  In the end there were 5 of us who went by taxi - which was good because we split the fare - making it about $3 each otherwise the $15 fare would have been quite a lot to trump up for one person.  The journey itself didn't take long and we discovered that we could have probably walked into town which would have taken about half an hour, according to a crew member that we met who had walked in.

Karen had a few things to do, as well as working on her 'vlog' and port guide (link: Cruise Ship Karen) as we walked down the streets.  We also kept a beady eye out for any shops that could possibly sell stationery but we weren't in luck.  Nick did a quick search on the internet but the places recommended by the internet search turned out not to have much.  But it didn't matter.  Towards midday it started to rain and it was still raining by the time we wanted to head back to the ship.  So we hailed a taxi rather than walking back to the ship.
Heading to Portland.

Tomorrow the Maasdam will be docked in Portland and I'm looking forward to getting out to explore.
