Taking Stock.

I didn't sleep very well during the night.  I kept waking up because I couldn't breathe - my cold was setting in.

After paying the accommodation bill, we sat out on the veranda of the chalet, taking stock of our situation.  Paul contacted KwikFit head-office in the Netherlands to lodge a complaint.  They have asked him to send any photographs that he has, and they will get in touch with the KiwkFit branch that messed up the radiator.  I had to break the news to our friends as to the fact that we could not attend their vow renewal ceremony.  It made us very sad because we had been so looking forward to being there with them on such a special day.

We picked up some groceries from the campsite shop and then I had a nap.  A bit later on we had a wander around the campsite and fed some chickens that were in an enclosure.

We have a nest of ants quite close to us and have been watching them out of curiosity.  They are busy, industrious little creatures.  It is amazing the distances they travel to find food, let alone bring it back to the nest, sometimes more than double their body size!  We have put out some crumbs for them and also a few flakes of fish near their nest.  When they find a morsel - there is so much action.  There must be method in madness but to us it seems like there is no co-ordination when it comes to bigger morsels. Some ants tug, others pull, so it becomes almost like mini tug-o-war.  Ants with small pieces go either directly to the nest or bizarrely head off in a completely different direction before going to the nest.  The whole scenario with our tiny friends makes interesting watching.
