Sea day: getting around the ship.

The funnel
Where did the 11th go??  We crossed the international dateline and possibly saw a 'smidge' of the 11th but otherwise we skipped a day.

In between trying to write my blogs I've had the opportunity to accompany Paul on his rounds of the ship which included climbing up ladder-like steps inside the funnel.  Yes it was dirty and hot but I didn't mind.  Fortunately Paul trusted my climbing abilities otherwise he wouldn't have asked me to come along.

Later on, after dinner, we had a dip in the jacuzzi.  It was nice but smelt over-chlorinated.  I can imagine my swimsuit disintegrating rapidly at this rate!

Looking up...

Pipework and chimneys leading out of the ship
and upwards

On the same level as the base of the funnel, on the roof of
'Club HAL' - the children's play area.

Maintenance being done - a crew member sanding off rust
near the funnel. The sports court/volleyball court is to
the right, enclosed in netting, on the next deck.

Inside the funnel - all the pipes and chimneys.

The top - and the chimneys

Looking out, aft, from the top of the funnel. The chimneys are behind us.

View from the top of the funnel, looking towards the bow. The pickleball
court is on the left corner of the photo, the middle section is the sliding roofs
covering the lido. The Crow's Nest is beyond that, below the rooftop
observation deck.

Panoramic view of the sports court and the deck alongside it,
with the lido sliding roof to the left.

Paul is dwarfed by the chimneys!

Climbing back down the ladder inside the funnel.
Note the dirt - all black grime!

Looking aft and out through the funnel panel.

in the anchor room.

Kaboom?!

The washing machine is a man eater!
