Last night there was a fantastic thunderstorm and along with it came some much needed and welcome rain.
It was an overcast day again so we got dressed and hopped into the car for another drive. As we went along the west coastline we saw a old tower and Paul suggested we walk up to it. We found a dirt road that led to a beach below the tower. On parking the car, the sun had come out so we decided to do walk to the tower in sarongs only. We discreetly undressed, wrapped our sarongs around us and followed a track. As and when there was nobody around, we walked with nothing on, only putting our sarongs on when we heard people coming. It took us about ½ hour to get to the top of the hill to the tower but unfortunately we couldn't go up into the tower because there was no entrance to the old internal stairs. So, we made do with checking out the view.
We continued our journey and ended up Les Baines de Caldane - a privately owned hot sulphur spring. We were only allowed 20 minutes for a therapeutic dip and the water didn't feel quite as warm as we expected it to be. It was still nice to sit and enjoy the waters though. It started to drizzle whilst we were in the small pool but it was still nice. A few people got out to rescue their clothing and towels from the shower. Fortunately we had, in hindsight, put our things under shelter. Our stint in the pool ended and we got dressed again - but just put on our sarongs over our swimsuits and travelled back to the campsite in our sarongs rather than getting completely dressed. As time was getting on and we wanted to get back to the campsite before dark, our trusty satnav took us the fastest route back. But it didn't seem fast because of the narrow roads. The scenery was beautiful again despite the cloud cover.
We shall see what tomorrow holds.
