In Lanzarote!

Before Paul goes back to work we decided to get away for a sunny break rather than staying in cold of the northern hemisphere.  So we decided to get away for two weeks, staying in Lanzarote.

Flying from Brussels was a bit easier and closer rather than flying out from Amsterdam.  The airline was the next cheapest compared to that of Ryanair but the travel agent had warned us of disruptions with Ryanair so we chose not to fly with them this time.

We drove the car to an off-site airport parking garage a few kilometres away from the Brussels Airport.  The garage parking was simple enough to find but it wasn't simple.  We drove around and around....  We had seen a tiny sign but it was not directly at the parking turnoff and the building was being used by a car wash and garage company.  It turned out that the parking company was also using the same building despite it not being very well signposted!  Once we parked up, the company drove us to the airport in their van.

Night view from our lodgings.
When we arrived in Lanzarote we followed paper instructions on where to find our lift to take us to SIXT Car Rentals in town.  It was easy but not easy - a bit complicated, but eventually we found a SIXT driver and his vehicle waiting for us.  We were taken to the car hire office where Paul did the paperwork formalities, we were handed the keys to a nice small VW and set off for Charco del Palo.

It was dark by the time we arrived and so we had difficulty in finding the reception of where we had to check in for our holiday accommodation.  Fortunately someone saw us looking a bit lost.  He put us on the right track and we found the place.  Reception was closed but our accommodation key and information was in an envelope, stuck to the reception door.

We found our duplex apartment, unpacked, had a shower and relaxed.
