Last night there was a nice thunderstorm - it was lovely listening to the rain and thunder and seeing the lightning.
Today the walk leader organised a bicycle ride for the walking group and we could hire bicycles from a rental place in Neuhaus if we hadn't got our bicycles with us. It was raining in Cursdorf but we decided to go to Neuhaus anyway in case the weather changed. It didn't. In fact the wind got up, adding to the misery. So we ended up taking a drive around the area. Unfortunately for us we didn't have much luck in getting on with the driving - a lot of roads were closed off and the diversion signs seemed to disappear. A satnav did help to a degree but even that led us a merry dance. At least we got to see some of the Thuringian Forest whilst remaining dry!
When we got back to Talmühle later we learned that one of the cyclists turned back due to the rain. It was simply too cold and windy.
